1. About the directory and these terms

OpenDirectory.in is a directory of Indian Internet resources operated by Megri Soft Limited. These Terms of Use govern access to the website, use of its search and browsing features, and submission or modification of directory listings.

Read these terms before using the service or sending a submission. If you do not agree, do not submit material or use the service in a manner requiring acceptance. Your non-excludable statutory rights remain unaffected. Our Privacy Policy explains personal information handling; agreement to these terms is not a substitute for any separate consent required by law.

2. What the service provides

The directory organises website titles, descriptions and URLs by topic and region. Its purpose is to help visitors discover resources with a connection to India. It is not a certification service or a guarantee that a listed website is safe, accurate, lawful or suitable for your needs.

Functions, category structures and public listings may change. We do not promise uninterrupted availability or preservation of any particular listing or category.

3. Acceptable use

You may browse, search and send genuine website suggestions or correction requests. You must not:

• Submit information you know to be false, impersonate another person or claim authority you do not have.
• Submit unlawful, infringing, deceptive, abusive or malicious material.
• Repeatedly submit duplicate listings or use the forms for unsolicited advertising.
• Attempt unauthorised access, exploit vulnerabilities, interfere with the service or bypass access controls.
• Use automated activity at a rate that disrupts the website or disregards applicable access restrictions.
• Collect submission contact information or other non-public information without authorisation.

We may restrict misuse, remove unsuitable material or take proportionate steps to protect the service, subject to applicable law.

4. Website suggestions and modifications

Follow the submission guidelines and choose a relevant category. Use a factual title and description, a working website address and accurate contact details. You should be at least 18 years old to submit a listing and have authority to provide the information and any personal contact details included.

A suggestion is a request for review. It does not create an entitlement to publication, a review deadline, a specific category, a particular description, traffic, backlinks, search rankings or inclusion in AI-generated answers.

If your website is already listed, request changes using Modify Listing instead of adding another entry. You remain responsible for the accuracy of information you submit and for notifying us of important corrections.

5. Editorial decisions

We may accept or decline suggestions, revise titles or descriptions for clarity, place a site in another category, and update or remove outdated, duplicate or unsuitable listings. A listing may also change when the linked website changes purpose, ownership or availability.

Editorial decisions are made for the usefulness and integrity of the directory. Contact us if you believe a decision is based on incorrect information. We may ask for evidence or clarification and do not guarantee that a request for reconsideration will result in a listing.

6. Permission to use submitted content

You retain any rights you hold in material you submit. You grant Megri Soft Limited a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free permission to store, reproduce, edit, format and publicly display the submitted listing title, description and URL as needed to operate and promote the directory, including displaying relevant snippets of directory pages. Service providers may handle that material for those purposes.

This permission does not transfer ownership of your website or give permission to use non-public contact information for unrelated marketing. Public listings may be accessed by independent search engines and other services; we do not control their copying or subsequent display.

You confirm that you may grant this permission and that your submission does not infringe another person's rights. If you request removal, we will review the request; appropriate administrative or legally required copies may still be retained.

7. External websites and transactions

Directory links take you to websites controlled by other parties. Their content, security, availability, privacy practices, products and services are their responsibility. Listings do not imply a partnership, endorsement or verification by Megri Soft Limited.

Before making a purchase, booking, investment or other commitment, assess the external provider and its terms independently. A dispute about an external transaction should be raised with that provider. You can also notify us if a listing appears deceptive or harmful.

8. Directory content and third-party rights

The site's original design, branding and editorial content may be protected by intellectual property rights. Third-party names, marks and website content remain subject to their owners' rights. Any material governed by an existing third-party licence remains governed by that licence; these terms do not override attribution or reuse requirements.

You may link to our pages and use the directory for ordinary browsing. Bulk reuse, republication or commercial redistribution requires permission unless an applicable licence or law allows it. Do not assume that historical source material and newly created material share the same reuse terms. Contact us with the intended use so the applicable rights can be checked.

9. Corrections, rights complaints and harmful content

Email directoryindia@gmail.com to report a broken link, misleading description, privacy concern or alleged infringement. Provide the directory page URL, affected website URL, a clear explanation, and relevant supporting information.

For a rights complaint, explain the right involved and your authority to act for its owner. We may request further information and take appropriate action after review. Reports should be accurate and made in good faith.

10. Availability, accuracy and liability

The directory is provided on an “as available” basis. Websites and descriptions can become outdated between reviews. To the extent permitted by applicable law, we do not warrant continuous availability, error-free operation, completeness of listings or the performance of external websites.

To the extent permitted by law, Megri Soft Limited is not responsible for losses arising from an independent external provider's conduct or for indirect or consequential loss arising from use of the directory. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, or limits mandatory consumer or other statutory protections.

11. Applicable law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of India. Before starting proceedings, you may contact us so we can try to address the issue. This does not prevent urgent relief or exercise of a statutory remedy.

Subject to mandatory law and the jurisdiction of competent courts, tribunals or authorities, disputes concerning these terms may be brought before the competent courts at Chandigarh, India. This provision does not take away a forum or remedy that applicable law makes available to you.

12. Changes and interpretation

We may revise these terms to reflect changes in the service or applicable law. The version date will be updated, and additional notice will be given where required. Changes do not retrospectively remove accrued rights or mandatory legal protections.

If a provision is unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue to apply to the extent lawful. A failure to enforce a provision on one occasion does not waive the right to enforce it later.
